The Antermoia legend
Legend has it that Oswald von Wolkenstein once ascended on the Seiser Alm because he had fallen in love with the lovely Antermoia. Although he owed his music and poetry to his love for her, Oswald betrayed the love of Antermoia, whereupon the beautiful girl, in her grief, withdrew into the mountains for good. She wept so many tears over the ingratitude of the lover that a lake resulted from them: The enchanting, emerald-green and heart-shaped Antermoia lake.
