The story of the
Urthaler hotel keeper's family, in the region of the Dolomites, began at the
beginning of the 20th century. Alpinism gradually developed into a popular sport and the
Schlern region, along with the Alpe di Siusi, was touristically developed. Founder father
Josef Urthaler displayed enterpreneurial foresight when,
in 1911, he built the "Enzian Inn“. This continued to expand into a successful tourism enterprise, comprising the three
Seiser Alm Hotels named Urthaler, Compatsch and Plaza. Today, 70 employees are untiringly busy with turning the holiday stay of our guests into a
unique experience for them.
